A fireside chat with former Australian Foreign Minister Gareth Evans

It was no surprise that an evening with the “Incorrigible Optimist” Prof Gareth Evans, Chancellor of the Australian National University and former Foreign Minister of Australia, will go down as one of the most enlightening Fireside chats of the Australian Alumni Association (Thailand). About 80 alumni turned up at the Australian Embassy for the event which saw a constant flow of questions which focused not only on for the former foreign minister’s his career but also foreign affairs and geo-politics. Special thanks to Australian Ambassador Allan McKinnon, his team and AustCham for their support for this event.

For events organised by the Australian Embassy, AAA Thailand will submit names of alumni members to the embassy on a rotation basis. However, the final decision as to which alumni are invited rests with the Australian Embassy.
