Australian Alumni Awards 2020

Despite heavy rain and gridlock traffic, there was a great turnout for the Australian Alumni Awards, one of the premier, annual events for Australian alumni. The awards pays tribute and recognizes alumni for their achievements and contributions to Thailand.   Australian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Thailand, His Excellency Mr. Allan McKinnon was on hand to welcome His Excellency Dr. Chirayu Isarangkun Na Ayuthaya, Privy Councillor and Mr. Anucha Burapachaisri, Government Spokesperson.

The Australian Alumni Association (Thailand) is honoured to be a part and support this annual event and thanks all of its members for joining the committee and senior alumni elders for a most memorable night. AAA (Thailand) would like to congratulate alumni recognized for their contributions and achievements in 2020.

Special Achievement Award
Lieutenant General Werachon Sukondhapatipak; Former Deputy government spokesman; for his long-standing relationship with Australia, highlighted by his extraordinary contribution in raising money for the Australian Bushfire Relief Fund earlier this year.

Since 2016, admission to AAA Thailand events have been free of charge. However, the AAA Thailand Committee reserves the right to charge nominal fees for certain events from July 2020 onwards. For events organised by the Australian Embassy, AAA Thailand will submit names of alumni members to the embassy on a rotation basis. However, the final decision as to which alumni are invited rests with the Australian Embassy.
